ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is one of the many skills used within physiotherapy as an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation and as a means of stimulating the body’s own healing chemicals in order to aid recovery and enhance rehabilitation.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine stainless steel needles into the skin and is one of the skills employed by our specialist physiotherapists as part of an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation.
Scientific research and clinical evidence have shown that acupuncture can reduce pain by stimulating the brain and spinal cord to produce natural pain-relieving chemicals such as endorphins, melatonin (which promotes sleep) and serotonin (to promote well-being). These chemicals assist the body's healing processes and offer pain relief as a precursor to other treatments such as manual therapy or exercise in order to aid recovery.

FIRST
APPOINTMENT
Your first appointment will include an assessment of your condition by one of our experienced physiotherapists, followed by treatment.
​
You will have the opportunity to discuss with the therapist your treatment plan, including goals and expected recovery time.
​
Please bring comfortable clothes. We can provide spare shorts in case you need.
​
If you prefer, you can fill out our Registration Form in advance and bring it with you to the appointment.
PAYMENT
Payments are made at the end of each consultation. We accept cash, cheque, debit or credit card.
Upon request we may also accept payment by bank transfer or through a secure online portal (powered by WorldPay).

INSURANCES
We are recognised by all major insurance companies and we may bill directly some insurances, including Bupa and Cigna, if you provide us the following details prior to your first consultation:
